Mesh?!?! This material immediately gives me flashbacks of the 80’s when I was trying to emulate my role model, Madonna. It can be a scary thing to wear. If done wrong, you can look like you belong on the Fashion Police segment Starlet or Streetwalker. However, when it’s done right, it can be demure and very chic. It’s a great way to show just enough skin to draw interest but keep them guessing about what’s underneath. I’m loving the way designers are taking mesh to the next level. A one-piece swimsuit with mesh paneling is the perfect example of subtle sexiness for the lady who doesn’t want to bare it all in a string bikini. Also, wearing a mesh pump can be slimming by elongating the appearance of your legs. Mesh designs have always been common in athletic wear but now have a more sophisticated look and a cut-out mesh dress will make you a show-stoppper at any formal event. So, don’t be scared. Go ahead and get fresh with mesh this summer!
I have a new favorite waste of time. The Kardashians have sucked me in once again with the Kim Kardashian Hollywood game. I tried it because it was free and had absolutely no expectations and now I’m completely addicted! It is actually exquisitely designed and easy to navigate. The avatars are quite exceptional as well. When I started the game, I was a lowly sales girl at a boutique and in walked Kim Kardashian! I successfully styled her for an event after which she quickly befriended me and hooked me up with contacts that eventually led to gigs. These gigs include modeling for various brands, appearances, and really just being me for which I get paid handsomely (sound familiar). You require energy to complete your tasks. You can get energy by using your stars (which you have to earn or purchase), but I have found that I can just wait for my energy to replenish. It takes a little longer but no money is spent. The instant gratification of money and new clothes is really addicting which is why I climbed from an E-list celebrity to an A-list celebrity in just one week. I have reached level 12 of 19, have 37.2 million fans, a condo in L.A., a house in Miami (next to Kim’s), and I haven’t spent any of my actual money to do it. If only real fame and fortune was this easy to obtain. Well, I guess it is for some….lol! All in all, it’s a great way to pass the time next time you’re stuck in a long line or just want some mindless fun to relax.
Alas! The rumor is true. I heard many months ago that my ultimate favorite brand was collaborating with my favorite fitness device and I thought it was too good to be true. The Tory Burch Fitbit collection has been revealed and it’s everything I hoped it would be and more! It’s actually perfect timing for me as I had to reluctantly give up my Fitbit Force due to the recall, and the fact that it gave me a nasty rash on my wrist. Now I can replace it with one of the gorgeous Tory Burch designs. The trouble will be deciding which one to get
Fitness accessories have come a loooooong way!! I mean look at this gorgeous bracelet! This is definitely function meets fashion at its greatest. The sleek and architectural design is so stunning, it’s perfect for when you want to keep track of your steps while on a night out on the town.
The pink and navy options are great to rock your everyday workouts in style.
I never thought of wearing my fitbit around my neck but this pendant is too cute to pass up.
Which Tory Burch Fitbit are you going to be sporting to your next workout. Me? I want all three!
Every fit chick knows that yoga leggings are truly essential since you practically live in them. Whether you’re a yogi, a Pilates girl, a runner, or a barre babe you probably wear leggings on a daily basis. I probably have six pairs of black ones and black everyday gets pretty monotonous so I like to spice it up with some hot pants. Several brands are embracing more bright colors and fun prints to liven up their collections which brings even more fun and whimsy to your workout. Of course, some luxury leggings can run as high as $200 but I found these cute pair by Onzie for $44. Do you wear hot pants for your workout?
Awwww……yeah! It’s time to celebrate the birthday of the U.S.A. and what better way to say “I America” than sporting a quintessential All-American girl look? Comfort is a must since you’ll probably be at a BBQ or the beach before heading out to the fireworks show. There’s nothing more classic than cut-offs and Chuck Taylors. Add a patriotic T-shirt or tank and throw on a cute kimono for extra style points and you’re good to go!
What will be your look for the fourth of July? Feel free to share.
Yoga is one of those activities I don’t do very often, but when I do I wonder what took me so long to find may way back to it. This past weekend I attended a yoga block party in the parking lot of the Whole Foods Sandy Springs. Yes….I said parking lot. It seemed odd but it was actually really cool with a nice turn out. It was hosted by Becky Cawood, the owner of Veda Yoga studio, with several sponsors such as Orange Theory, Ice Box, Women’s Premier Fitness, Whole foods, and Pink Barre.
I promise I was practicing my yoga but over hundred people doing warrior two was too great of a picture to miss.
At the end of our practice, there were some amazing giveaways including free Lululemon yoga mats, and gift baskets with $50 Whole Foods card and a $150 Lululemon card!!!! Unfortunately, I was not a winner but congrats to those who received those fantastic prizes.
Despite the heat, it was a fun time. Thanks to my friend, Sher, for introducing me to Becky Cawood and this wonderful event. You can take a free Veda Yoga class at Lululemon Perimeter every Sunday at 10 am or follow on facebook for more information.
I was wearing…..
Top and bottom: Lululemon. Headband: Versona Accessories. Sneakers: Target.
