I’m back in fitness gear. Surprise. Surprise….I really think I buy more workout clothes than regular clothes at this point. It’s easy to do when you have luxury athletic brands like Beyond Yoga creating such comfortable and chic pieces. It’s hard to go back to regular street clothes once your skin gets used to the insanely soft fabrics used in their clothing. Last week I featured a post on this beloved brand so this week I decided to showcase one of my head-to-toe Beyond Yoga looks.
This cowl drape top is perfect to throw on after a workout to head to lunch or errands. The best part is you can wear it two ways to create two totally different looks!
I like to keep my body warm in between teaching my Bar classes and tops like this one are easy and comfortable to throw on.
Flexing some of my yoga muscles…lol!
I was wearing…
Beyond Yoga: Striped side panel leggings, quilted block back cami, cowl drape top.
Stay tuned for some more upcoming fitness outfit posts. Thanks to Beyond Yogafor creating such fabulous gear!
It’s so true that clothes can ignite feelings and provide you with a whole new attitude. This outfit makes me feel like I can kick down walls like a super hero! Some of my reader expressed that they missed my outfit posts. I pretty much have been living in athletic wear lately so I haven’t done any photo shoots but I thought what the heck, my activewear is just as cute as the rest of the clothes in my closet. My favorite part about this look are the patch details on the shoulders, elbows, and knees. Almost like armor. I usually shy away from printed pants but these leggings by body rock were too cute to pass up

Top: Lululemon. Leggings: body rock. Wedge sneakers: Target.
Like most people around the country, I headed to a Super Bowl party yesterday. I was completely apathetic about both teams and it’s purely chance that my Super Bowl outfit had the colors of the winning Seattle Seahawks. If the Steelers aren’t in the Super Bowl, I will typically just pull for the team with the least amount of rings so no one challenges the Steelers 6 championship rings record. I initially was going to wear black, coated skinny jeans with a blouse and statement necklace, but it felt a little too dressy for the occasion. So, I opted for a simple plaid shirt I found at Target and a pair of skinny jeans I haven’t been able to fit into for over a year! Thanks to the master cleanse and Dietbet, I’m back in my Tory Burch zipper jeans!
It was a surprisingly balmy day of temps close to 70 degrees. It was hard to believe Snowmegeddon of Atlanta was just five days prior.
It is still hard for me to wear flats with skinny jeans. Being a petite and curvy girl, I always feel the need to wear high heels to elongate my silhouette. These nude color (nude for my complexion) pumps from Aldo are pretty comfortable.
Of course, I still had to glam up the outfit with a chunky necklace and some fun bracelets. What did you wear for your Super Bowl party?
In anticipation of the Peter Pilotto for Target collection launch next weekend, I was inspired to wear one of my previous favorite Target collaborations, Missoni for Target. Everyone probably remembers the frenzy that ensued when this collection launched. Stores were sold out in just a few hours and the website shutdown. Total mayhem! I was fortunate enough to get several beautiful pieces including this matching sweater and knit skirt ensemble. Although I love the iconic Missoni chevron print, it’s hard to pull off a head-to-toe print so I broke it up with a solid black turtleneck and tights. It’s such a fun and flirty look. What do you think? Did you walk away with some fab pieces from this collection?
Don’t forget to head to Target on Feb 9th! It’s going to be crazy!
I was wearing…
Sweater vest & skirt: Missoni for Target. Top: Victoria’s Secret. Tights: Hue. Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell. Earrings: Macy’s.
There’s nothing like celebrating New Year’s Eve than with good friends, salsa dancing, and of course….booze! My husband and I met up with three other couples at Loca Luna. It’s a quaint little salsa spot in Amsterdam Walk in Midtown. I was happy to have somewhere to wear a sparkly dress and dance all night.
A picture of us ladies all gussied up in our party dresses. I found this black dress with a gorgeous sequin Aztec-pattern down the front at Fab’rik. I love the sexy mesh cut-outs on the side (although it did give me some side boob action…lol). It was a cold night so I paired it with opaque tights and booties.
The best part about the evening was bringing in the new year with my handsome husband! Doesn’t he look so dapper?
There are some styles that just never fall out of fashion. Who doesn’t love a chic equestrian look? The elegance of a riding jacket and the timelessness of a pair of riding boots keeps this look relevant. I will admit that the silhouette of actual riding pants are not very flattering but they can be easily substituted with a pair of skinny jeans or even faux leather leggings for an extra kick.
I found this gorgeous blazer during a semi-annual sale at Nordstrom over a year ago. I was smitten by the tails on the back and the faux leather accents.
Usually I wear black or brown skinny jeans with this outfit but decided to switch it up a little bit by wearing these army green ones by Trafulac.
What classic look do you love?
Thanks for reading!
I was wearing….
Blazer: Charles Gray of London. Top: Victoria’s Secret. Jeans: Trafulac (Zara). Boots: Area Forte. Handbag: Louis Vuitton. Earrings: gifted.
There’s no better way to kick off the holiday season than getting together with friends. This weekend my husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a 40th surprise birthday celebration for a friend of ours. It was so sweet how his wife orchestrated a beautiful event with friends and family from all over. The guest of honor was truly surprised and expressed his gratitude to all of the guests that came from near and far to celebrate his day.
When it comes to parties, you can’t go wrong with a slick, all-black ensemble. After much consideration, I elected to wear this black faux leather peplum top with this skirt which really accented the faux leather panels on the skirt. I was inspired by some great advice I received from Clinton Kelly himself a few weeks ago on what to pair with a midi pencil skirt. You can read about the event with Clinton Kelly in my previous post.
All in all it was a great night and I’m looking forward to more upcoming holiday soirees
I often have trouble getting into the holiday spirit. It could be because stores began setting out holiday decor and products around Halloween or the fact that Thanksgiving is so overshadowed by Black Friday sales. Maybe it’s the fact that holiday music is played starting in early November so by the time Christmas rolls around I’m sick of it already. Whatever the reason, it gets harder for me every year to shake off the grinch feeling. A few weeks ago I was playing a tennis match in Piedmont Park and caught a glimpse of the light display in the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I went home and did some online research and decided to check it out.
This past Friday my husband and I had our date night at the Garden in the Lights. It was both of ours first time to the Atlanta Botanical Garden and it was definitely a sight to see.
We went during peak hours so there were plenty of families and couples out to enjoy the magical display on a not-so-cold night.
I was thoroughly impressed with decor of the grounds. It was literally like walking through a winter wonderland with music, hot drinks, and even fireplaces to make your own s’mores.
Winter shorts. It seems like an oxymoron but it’s a look that I have embraced along with many other fashion-minded ladies out there. It’s a nice alternative to a dress or a skirt with tights and for some reason, it seems a tad more flirtatious. Last week I wrote a post about revisiting the classic look of houndstooth. I found these cuties years ago at Macy’s and they are still very relevant. The shorts speak for themselves so I usually just wear a solid top and tights and some sexy heels to accent the legs. Another cute idea is to wear over-the-knee boots and show just a peek-a-boo of thigh. The booties were an old purchase as well from Nine West. I honestly kind of forgot about them until I stumbled upon them a few weeks ago. There’s nothing like dusting off a great pair of shoes and giving them new life. Do you wear winter shorts? If so, I’d love to see how you rock them.
Were you a huge of fan of What Not to Wear? I sure was so you can imagine my excitement when I had the opportunity to meet the infamous style guru, Clinton Kelly. I attended a style seminar at Macy’s Lenox Square with style tips and questions with the man himself. I meticulously picked out my outfit the night before. I wanted to go with a nerdy-chic kind of look. I borrowed a tie from my husband’s closet and learned how to tie one courtesy of YouTube. After battling Atlanta’s ridiculous Friday rush hour traffic, I managed to arrive super early to the event which was rewarded with a front row seat!
Look how close I was!!! He was amazing and dressed to the nines as expected. No man can mix prints better than Clinton Kelly. He was just as energetic and engaging in person as he is on t.v. I got up the nerve to ask him a question on how a petite woman can wear a midi length skirt. He replied with some very helpful advice and here’s the kicker…..he said ‘I love your outfit by the way’. #WINNING!!!
There was a fashion show featuring his top trends of the season. I loved how he used models of all different shapes, sizes, and ethnicities. Here were my favorite looks from the show.
Winter white is so hot and this look just exudes elegance.
Tweed shorts with tights are a nice alternative to a dress or a skirt to change things up. The burgundy booties were killer with little cut-outs all over the shoe.
Another look featuring a sick pair of shoes. The blazer had sequin sleeves that were absolutely dazzling.
This holiday dress was meant to keep all eyes on you at the party. The dress had little peek-a-boo cut-outs all over that were so sexy.
One of the guest in the audience was Holly, a previous style offender on What Not to Wear, and as you can see, she’s still looking good.
Guests received a tote graced with this Clintonism.
After the show, I received a free makeover by Estee Lauder. They did all the make up for the models. I would have never thought to put these colors on my face, but I think it turned out pretty. What do you think?
I had such a great time! Thank you Southern Blog Society for the invite!
