I have yellow fever!!!! NOT! But I have been craving a gorgeous canary yellow handbag as a latest addition to my collection for the upcoming summer months. There’s no better way to add some spice to a summer wardrobe than beautiful bold accessories. It’s a nice trick to give last year’s wardrobe a makeover without spending a lot of money. Here are a few of the beauties I’m drooling over. Which one do you like?
A few weeks ago I attended the launch party of a decadent truffles company called Cris’s Brigs. They specialize in Brazilian chocolate truffles (Brigadeiros) using an old family recipe. There were a variety of sinful flavors like passionfruit, pistachio, and little kiss. This was my first time having Brazilian truffles and I must say….they did not disappoint. It was a wonderful event held in the lounge of an upscale Buckhead apartment building with a large outdoor balcony with city views. Wine, chocolate, and a beautiful evening. What more could a girl ask for
Since it was a Brazilian truffle event I wanted to wear something vibrant to reflect the rich and colorful culture.
I was wearing…..
Top: Prabal Gurung for Target. Leggings: American Apparel. Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target. Handbag: Target.

The prime time drama, Revenge, is my Sunday night guilty pleasure. One of the reasons I love this show is because it reminds me of the great dramas of the 80’s I was so obsessed with as a young girl. You remember Joan Collins and Heather Locklear in Dynasty?Ahhh…..the good old days of television. The other thing I love about this show is the fashion. The cast members are all dressed to the nines, especially Ashley Madekwe’s character, Ashley Davenport. This Nigerian and English beauty is stunning both on and off the screen. She has the ability to look so sophisticated whether wearing a ball gown or jeans and a T-shirt. The picture of her below is a great example of her personal style of classy and casual with just a touch of edge. Her impeccable fashion sense makes her a young style star to watch!
I just absolutely love these shoes. I scored these at the Ferragamo outlet in Las Vegas a few years back. I was drawn to the intricate overlay of green leather wrapped around this brown leather pump. I had never seen anything like it and just knew I had to have them. They also fit me very well. I have narrow feet and Ferragamo has a large selection of narrow width shoes. That is one tip I want to pass along to all of my readers. Many shoe designers specialize in either large sizes, narrow and/or wide widths. Do your research to find which designers create more shoes for your type of foot and save yourself a lot of frustration when shopping for shoes!
I don’t know about you but I am so jazzed (pun intended) for the movie Gatsby to be released May 10th! If you have read my earlier post Harlem Renaissance, you know I’m quite obsessed with the roaring twenties. I just know this movie is going to be such a decadent masterpiece with gorgeous costumes, stunning cinematography, and beautiful actors (Leonardo Dicaprio). I was wondering if there would be a Gatsby-inspired designer collection of some sort like the movie ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ had, so I was delighted to hear that Gatsby costume designer, Catherine Martin teamed up with Tiffany & Co. to create a jewelry line paying homage to the movie and the era. This collection is so opulent and really nails the feel of the era
Stunning right!!!! Well, save up your chips people because these pieces are not cheap with the diamond headpiece at $200K! But we can all get lost in the fantasy of the movie for a lot less. Enjoy!
Wine+patio weather+friends= a fantastic Saturday afternoon! This past weekend was the semi-annual Vinings wine crawl. Just a $5 ticket gets you access to 5 restaurants all with special discounts on wine and food. The Vinings is such a cute area with quaint buildings filled with specialty shops and restaurants all within walking distance. It’s an event I don’t think I’ve missed since I moved to Atlanta.
I was wearing…….
Blazer: Neiman Marcus for Target. Top: via Marshall’s. Jeans: Target. Handbag & Shoes: Tory Burch. Watch: Anthropologie. Bracelet: Charles Emerson. Ring: David Yurman. Earrings & Sunglasses: Tory Burch.
White Shoes! They’re making a comeback with a vengeance this spring, but are you feeling this look? I’m truly torn. I don’t know if it’s the doctor in me, but when I think of white shoes it reminds me of old school nurses shoes. But I have to admit, some of these shoes this season are pretty fly and I am tempted to try the trend. I especially like those with a lucite heel, that way you can knock out two trends in one. What do you think? Will you be trying the white shoe trend?
Zara is hands down one of my favorite places to shop! This past December I was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and typically when I shop internationally, I try to avoid going to stores we have in the states. Well, I had to make an exception for Zara. It was summer time there so I was able to shop the spring/summer collection. My girlfriend and I spent over two hours in the store and I ended up getting these shoes (along with several other items) I’m reviewing today. I love that from the front, the shoes appear so innocent with its baby pink color, and then in the back….BAM! Bad ass studs! They have more of a kitty heel and a nice wide forefoot so these babies were made for walking!
