So, I’ve never really been convinced about wearing boots in the summer. I mean, summer boots are kind of an oxymoron. I have witnessed teen girls wearing Uggs all year long, even during Atlanta’s hot summers, and have always thought they were crazy. Well, call me crazy because I’m really digging the ankle boots for summer! They pair well with shorts, jeans, and even dresses. I found these adorable studded ones at Zara on sale and I love these as another alternative for a summer shoe. So, please don’t judge me too harshly when you see me in these, and other ankle boots, over the summer!

Check out tomorrow’s post on some more ankle boots and ways to style them for summer!
If you read my Shoe Review post yesterday featuring a pair of Zara ankle boots, you know I’ve had a change of heart about wearing boots during the summer months. As promised, here are a few boots I adore and some ways to style them.

I’m an influenster! What’s that you ask? Well, a while back I joined an online community called Influenster. It’s a cool site where bloggers and other members of the media can participate in surveys and be selected to sample exclusive products in return for your feedback. I was selected for my very first product testing! I will be using the Fysiko eyelash growth serum for the next 16 weeks and you can follow me as I track my progress!
Here are my before pics….
As you can see, I have puny little eyelashes. Hopefully, after this experiment I will never have to use mascara again. We shall see…..
This is an outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago to meet a friend, and fellow blogger, for drinks. I had actually been looking for a crisp, white blazer for the upcoming warm season but have had difficulty finding one I really liked. Well, I was going through my closet the other day and what did I find? A crisp, white blazer!! It still had the tags on it (shame). I was delighted to find I already had what I was looking for but realized just how cluttered and disorganized my closet had become. Have you ever found yourself purchasing something you didn’t realize you already had until you got home and saw it?
This prompted me to sort through my clothes and donate items I know I won’t wear anymore. It was actually kind of fun! I found so many great pieces I had totally forgotten about. It was like shopping in my own closet!
Case in point, the scarf, blazer and pants were all items I completely forgot about and fell in love with all over again.
Have you done your spring closet cleaning? You never know what you might find
I enjoy reading your comments. I read each and every one.

Posing in Times Square on our way to brunch.
Mother and I enjoying a delicious brunch at the Blue Fin inside the W Hotel Times Square. Doesn’t she look adorable in her pink suit!
Always the most interesting characters in Times Square.
Getting ready for the show!
The show was absolutely amazing! It was almost more like a concert with everyone singing along to all of Motown’s greatest hits. Oh! The boy who played the young Michael Jackson of the Jackson 5 blew everyone away! He sounded just as good, if not better, than M.J.! Please check out this show if you have the opportunity!
Goodbye NYC! At least until our next adventure

Do you have a go-to store that never disappoints? I do! Zara! I can find just about anything I want there on any given day. It amazes me how they can have such reasonable prices and maintain the nice quality of their apparel. I was looking for some plain, black wedge sandals to compliment all of my maxi dresses and skirts. I had looked at several places but when I walked into Zara, there they were just waiting for me. They are very comfortable and the platform heel is not too narrow so I don’t feel like I’m going to topple over. What’s your go-to store??

It’s wedding season! Undoubtedly, you have at least one wedding to go to this summer and you’re probably struggling on what to wear. The key to being the perfectly dressed wedding guest is to look your best without appearing too sexy. Show some skin or wear a more figure-hugging dress, but not both!!! You don’t want to be the guest everyone is whispering about at the reception. Here are a few dress ideas for a day or an evening affair!
Welcome to my second installment of NYC Mother’s Day weekend! Our morning started off in Tribeca where we had a scrumptious breakfast.
We enjoyed our breakfast at this quaint little restaurant called Kitchenette. It was so warm and homey giving you the feeling of stepping into your grandmother’s kitchen with sweet smells swirling in the air!
Cookies and cakes galore!
Red velevet pancakes! Eat your heart out!
My girl Michele dropped by to join us for breakfast
After our meal, Mom went to a salon next door for a manicure and I took the opportunity to burn some calories and explore Tribeca.
I came across an adorable farmers market with all sorts of goodies.
We left Tribeca and headed to the Soho area for some vintage shopping. I was so excited to visit one of Rachel Zoe’s favorite shops Resurrection! It was filled with one of a kind vintage pieces from Missoni, Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, McQueen and more. Unfortunately, I don’t have Rachel Zoe’s budget so none of these beauties came home with me. Next time
A little pit stop through Times Square on our way back to the hotel.
We ended our night at a restaurant of famed chef, Marcus Samuelsson, called the Red Rooster. It is located right in the heart of Harlem so I wanted to go ultra vintage glam with a beaded headpiece and red lips.
That’s me impatiently awaiting my drink.
And there it is…….
Thanks for reading. Look out for my third and final post of NYC coming soon!
