Were you a huge of fan of What Not to Wear? I sure was so you can imagine my excitement when I had the opportunity to meet the infamous style guru, Clinton Kelly. I attended a style seminar at Macy’s Lenox Square with style tips and questions with the man himself. I meticulously picked out my outfit the night before. I wanted to go with a nerdy-chic kind of look. I borrowed a tie from my husband’s closet and learned how to tie one courtesy of YouTube. After battling Atlanta’s ridiculous Friday rush hour traffic, I managed to arrive super early to the event which was rewarded with a front row seat!
Look how close I was!!! He was amazing and dressed to the nines as expected. No man can mix prints better than Clinton Kelly. He was just as energetic and engaging in person as he is on t.v. I got up the nerve to ask him a question on how a petite woman can wear a midi length skirt. He replied with some very helpful advice and here’s the kicker…..he said ‘I love your outfit by the way’. #WINNING!!!
There was a fashion show featuring his top trends of the season. I loved how he used models of all different shapes, sizes, and ethnicities. Here were my favorite looks from the show.
Winter white is so hot and this look just exudes elegance.
Tweed shorts with tights are a nice alternative to a dress or a skirt to change things up. The burgundy booties were killer with little cut-outs all over the shoe.
Another look featuring a sick pair of shoes. The blazer had sequin sleeves that were absolutely dazzling.
This holiday dress was meant to keep all eyes on you at the party. The dress had little peek-a-boo cut-outs all over that were so sexy.
One of the guest in the audience was Holly, a previous style offender on What Not to Wear, and as you can see, she’s still looking good.
Guests received a tote graced with this Clintonism.
After the show, I received a free makeover by Estee Lauder. They did all the make up for the models. I would have never thought to put these colors on my face, but I think it turned out pretty. What do you think?
I had such a great time! Thank you Southern Blog Society for the invite!
I was wearing…
Pinafore: Talbots. Blouse: Banana Republic. Tie: Geoffery Beene. Tights: Express. Loafers: Steven by Steve Madden. Handbag: Marc Jacobs. Eyewear: Chanel.
There are some great perks when your husband travels a lot for a living, like impromptu weekend trips to fun places such as San Juan, PR! The weather in Atlanta has been cool and dreary so I jumped at the chance to head to the sunny beaches of the caribbean. I had never been to Puerto Rico before and was excited to explore what it had to offer.
Here I’m spotted sightseeing in Old San Juan.
This was the beautiful view from our hotel room. We stayed at the La Concha Resort nestled in Condado. I love how you could be in the middle of the city and have a private beach in your backyard. The hotel was a very hip and happening place. I highly recommend it if you’re ever in San Juan.
I have so many pics of Old San Juan that it was hard to pick just a few to share. I’m kind of a architecture nerd and could gaze at old buildings all day long! I was surprised at how much history there was to explore in Old San Juan.
This is part of the San Juan National Historic Site. A must see in PR!
Look at that gorgeous water and sky in the distance.
Ha! My husband caught me dancing in the moonlight…
Thanks for a fun trip, babe!

Remember when Kanye West started rocking baggy leather pants and everyone talked about how weird and eccentric he was?
Well….I’ve been seeing more and more people embracing the look including noted fashion bloggers, celebs, and fashion runways. I must admit that when I saw Kanye in concert for the Watch the Throne tour, I thought he looked a little crazy. But now that I’m revisiting this emerging trend, I feel he may have been on to something. I mean, why not make comfortable pants more luxe and glam? I love these options below:
I even like this sequin option:
I spend more and more time in my luxury yoga/bar outfits so wearing leather sweatpants doesn’t seem too farfetched to me. Just like I used to think pairing heels with my Lululemon tapered sweatpants was weird until I started wearing it and loved it. All I’m saying is, don’t knock until you try it.
So what do you think? Will you be embracing this trend and give your comfort clothing a luxe update?

Who can relate to this??
I apologize for being M.I.A. this week but work has been super crazy!!! I hope to get back in the swing of things next week!
