Beyond Yoga is hands down my new favorite luxury activewear brand. I’m so thankful for my local Bar Method in Atlanta for carrying such great brands and introducing me to this one. I have pretty much abandoned my old faithful, Lululemon, and haven’t looked back. There are seven fashion forward ladies behind this U.S.A.-based label that boosts quality athletic clothing for all sizes and silhouettes. Besides the fact that their clothes have extraordinary style, the fabrics are sooooo amazing! I have one pullover that is absolutely so soft I wear it weekly. I have several pairs of their leggings that have such a flattering fit and are comfortable and stylish enough to wear from day to night. I have to admit I have gone out to dinner many times after my Bar workout (I promise I don’t smell). I picked out a few of my faves from their website. I love my silver open back sweater you see pictured below but I have my eye on that cobalt blue open back top
It’s so true that clothes can ignite feelings and provide you with a whole new attitude. This outfit makes me feel like I can kick down walls like a super hero! Some of my reader expressed that they missed my outfit posts. I pretty much have been living in athletic wear lately so I haven’t done any photo shoots but I thought what the heck, my activewear is just as cute as the rest of the clothes in my closet. My favorite part about this look are the patch details on the shoulders, elbows, and knees. Almost like armor. I usually shy away from printed pants but these leggings by body rock were too cute to pass up
I was wearing…
Top: Lululemon. Leggings: body rock. Wedge sneakers: Target.
Today’s covetable collection comes from British shoe designer, Rupert Sanderson. This designer label is the product of a success story of someone who left their unfulfilling corporate job to pursue their passion. Sanderson left his office job and studied the art of shoemaking in Italy. He even had the amazing opportunity to study under famed Italian designers Bruno Magli and Sergio Rossi. The brand is based in London but has international recognition as a favorite of celebs such as Julia Roberts, Eva Mendez, and Cate Blanchett. You won’t find an abundance of fancy details like studs or zippers on these shoes. Sanderson boasts perfecting the simplicity of his shoes with smooth lines and elegant curves. Beautifully understated and timeless.
I have sweet news for all of you blushing brides-to-be! The Zac Posen for David’s Bridal collection has debuted with decadent wedding gowns. Zac Posen is well known for creating clothes that truly flatter a woman’s figure and is evident in his collection, Truly Zac Posen. The classic mermaid silhouette is a Zac Posen signature but there are also ball gown and A-line designs to choose from. All gowns are very reasonably priced averaging around $1100. I will admit that I thumbed my nose at David’s Bridal during my own wedding gown search, but I would have reconsidered if these beauties were available. I especially love the steel grey and navy dresses. Which are your favorites?
Thanks for reading!
Alas, another MBFW is over but it left behind a brilliant outlook on what’s to come in the fall. There are a few trends that really jumped out and made me excited for the next fall season. I’m happy to see that capes were still on the runways. There is something so mysterious and sophisticated about a cape that I just love.
Lupita Nyong’o was stunning in a jaw-dropping Ralph Lauren cape gown at the Golden Globes and it appears other designers are following suit with their own designs.
One of my favorite movies of all times is Clueless and that’s exactly what I thought of as I watched the Tory Burch show. She brought back thigh and knee high socks with chunky heeled shoes. Classic!
It appeared many designers may be fans of Scandal as there were quite a few wrap coats on the runways indicative of Olivia Pope’s flawless style.
It was refreshing to see pretty pastel palettes as opposed to the typical warm colors. For some reason, I feel that clothes in heavy textures like wool and tweed look so much cooler in light colors. Unexpected and chic.
Black and white is a look that never goes out of style. It’s fun to see how designers continue to re-invent this look time after time.
Just as radiant orchid is the pantone of this spring, azure blue is the star of fall. This deeply rich blue hue will make anyone feel like royalty.

Thanks for reading my MBFW runway trend compilation. What were some of your favorite trends?
Valentine’s Day gifts for him are somewhat of an oxymoron considering it’s a day that is typically focused on how a man is going to showcase his love for his woman. There are a slew of gift ideas for women but not so many great ones for guys. I usually find myself stumped every year on what to get my guy other than the typical card and satin heart boxers. Red Envelope is a great site that has gifts your guy would actually want for all occasions. I have picked out a few your man may really be excited to use. If your man likes a good cigar like mine does, this leather cigar holder is perfect. It holds three cigars and includes a punch and a lighter. The best part is that you can make it special by placing his monogram on the case. You can never go wrong with a nice watch and this one is sleek and sophisticated yet practical for everyday wear. I love these customizable cuff links. Not only can you engrave it with his initial, but you can place a picture of yourself inside so he can gaze at your smiling face. A money clip is a nice way to lighten the load of heavy wallet especially when wearing more formal attire. What guy wouldn’t want to make his own beer? This gift will provide him with a sense of accomplishment along with a tasty drink. Lastly, I couldn’t resist this cool iPhone cover with the old school radio and clock detail. There are only two days left before V-day so you better get going. Let’s try to make it as special for him as he will for you
I’m not sure what took me so long to try eyebrow threading. I have tried every other type of hair removal under the sun. Waxing, plucking, creams, sugaring, and laser hair removal. All are pretty uncomfortable with unpredictable results. A friend of mine has been threading her eyebrows for a while and was satisfied with her results so, I finally decided to try it. I went to Arches in Lenox Mall in Buckhead. It’s a small place I have walked by countless times without giving it a second thought. I was happy to see sterilizers at each station being the germophobe that I am. They pretty much just take walk-ins so I waited a good twenty minutes before it was my turn.
Threading is an ancient hair removal method originating in India. The technician uses a piece of thread which is pulled tautly between their hands and teeth and the hair is removed by crossing the threads and pulling the hairs out at the follicle level. It supposedly provides a more precise control in shaping the eyebrows than waxing and is gentler on the skin. I also saw on the Dr. Oz show it’s the best way to remove chin hairs which is a very sensitive, hormonal area on the face. It’s pretty cheap at only $10 for eyebrows and lasts about a month. It was equally as painful as waxing but I think I like these results better. Check out the picture below:
