Yoga is one of those activities I don’t do very often, but when I do I wonder what took me so long to find may way back to it. This past weekend I attended a yoga block party in the parking lot of the Whole Foods Sandy Springs. Yes….I said parking lot. It seemed odd but it was actually really cool with a nice turn out. It was hosted by Becky Cawood, the owner of Veda Yoga studio, with several sponsors such as Orange Theory, Ice Box, Women’s Premier Fitness, Whole foods, and Pink Barre.
I promise I was practicing my yoga but over hundred people doing warrior two was too great of a picture to miss.
At the end of our practice, there were some amazing giveaways including free Lululemon yoga mats, and gift baskets with $50 Whole Foods card and a $150 Lululemon card!!!! Unfortunately, I was not a winner but congrats to those who received those fantastic prizes.
Despite the heat, it was a fun time. Thanks to my friend, Sher, for introducing me to Becky Cawood and this wonderful event. You can take a free Veda Yoga class at Lululemon Perimeter every Sunday at 10 am or follow on facebook for more information.

For whatever reason I have really been loving all things boho chic this summer. I’ve been wearing cut-off shorts with ankle boots, kimonos, and of course, a fringe bag. Nothing epitomizes bohemian more than a cool fringe bag but some of them can be quite expensive which is not so bohemian. The brand jj winters has created some of the most desirable fringe handbags made popular by celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens. They are around $400 which is not outrageous but I found this adorable bag by Steve Madden for only $68!! That’s a great price for a bag you may not utilize all year long but still be the perfect complement to your boho look.
I have not enjoyed a Sunday Funday in quite a while, so when my dear friend told me about the Keg party at the Shops Around Lenox I jumped at the chance to go and enjoy a drink or two. There are many adorable boutiques and restaurants in this plaza including, Lululemon, Fab’rik, American Apparel, Bill Hallman, and my new favorite Deka Atlanta. I’m pictured below in front of Deka which is a beautiful store carrying luxury athletic gear such as Splits 59, Bia Brazil, Stella McCartney for Adidas, and much, much more! I can see this is going to become a problem for me being that I pretty much live in activewear and this place has many of my favorite brands.
Another boutique you must visit at the Shops Around Lenox is bevello. The staff at this store are sooo sweet and accommodating and they have the most precious clothes. The perfect place to find a cute maxi for a decent price or a flirty first date outfit.
I’m posing here with the ladies from Sugar Island Essentials. They had a beautiful display of their bath teas and body scrubs that all smelled good enough to eat. For more info email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit them on Instagram.
I hosted a Chloe & Isabel party for some friends of mine a few weeks ago and I’m finally getting the opportunity to post what I received for hosting the party. I’m wearing my new go-to statement necklace, the Torsade, that pairs perfectly with almost any outfit. I’m also wearing these gorgeous Retro Glam crystal earrings. I highly suggest hosting a party because the incentives are ah-mazing! Check out the site here for more info.
Thanks for the great pictures Valerie!

If you haven’t heard aboutmarimekko x Banana Republic, the latest designer collaboration collection, pay attention to this post! Some of these coveted pieces have already been spotted on celebs such as Olivia Palermo. This quirky Finnish brand know for their fun and funky prints have been brought stateside via the iconic American label to create a collection full of playful skirts, dresses, pants, and rompers. The prices range from $39.50-140 so you can get your summer wardrobe in gear!
The drama of this beautiful midi skirt is amazing and the mix of small and large print is so cool. If this skirt length doesn’t work for you, it does come in a shorter variety as well.
This is the perfect shift dress for a casual day at work or a fun backyard BBQ. I love the ease and comfort of this look.
I can’t get enough of this print! The slim fit capri pants are so adorable and mod. They kind of remind me of Gidget. Remember her?
What’s a summer wardrobe with a light and flowing maxi dress? This fabric is stunning and would great with some simple jewelry and some flat sandals.

Last, but absolutely not least, this adorable short set is my favorite of the bunch. At first glance it looks like a one piece but it’s actually shorts and a peplum top. This a flirty look great for a first date or brunch with the girls.
Head to your local Banana Republic store to get your hands on some these limited pieces. They are sure to fly off the racks!
Here is the second half of the trip as I promised to you yesterday. Even a beach lover like myself can only lounge in the sun for so long before I need some adventure. On my last full day in Mexico, we hopped in our rental and drove 20 minutes south to Tulum. I have some sort of weird obsession with ancient ruins and temples when I travel so I was excited to explore the Mayan Ruins of Tulum.
This was a huge national park with all different types of terrain from rocky cliffs to beaches and rainforest areas. It was a mere $10 to enter and you could spend as long as you liked hiking, biking, swimming, or just relaxing.
It’s so amazing that these structures are still standing after all of these years. Mankind can be absolutely intriguing!
There was definitely a mystical feeling in the air here.
Hiking through the jungle.
Another gorgeous view from the cliff tops.
I hope you enjoyed me sharing my little trip with you. Where have you traveled that you loved the most?
I’m baaaaacckk!! Sorry for the short hiatus but my sweet husband surprised me and swept me off to Mexico for my birthday last week! I was beyond excited because I hadn’t been to Mexico since spring break ’96 in Acapulco. This trip was of a different nature, however. I traded in partying at Senor Frogs for a relaxing on the beach and enjoying quality time with my husband.
We travelled one hour south of Cancun to Riviera Maya, Mexico. I’m pictured here on the north end of our resort by the natural pool.
We stayed at the Grand Palladium Hotel & Resort. A sprawling property with four separate hotels, multiple pools, and restaurants.
A few pictures of the gorgeous property…
This picture doesn’t do this pool justice which was located at the spa.
There were a lot of iguana crossings.
My natural habitat….
I’m on top of the world!
A beautiful night in Riviera Maya…..
Stay tuned for the second part of my trip tomorrow!
