Mesh?!?! This material immediately gives me flashbacks of the 80’s when I was trying to emulate my role model, Madonna. It can be a scary thing to wear. If done wrong, you can look like you belong on the Fashion Police segment Starlet or Streetwalker. However, when it’s done right, it can be demure and very chic. It’s a great way to show just enough skin to draw interest but keep them guessing about what’s underneath. I’m loving the way designers are taking mesh to the next level. A one-piece swimsuit with mesh paneling is the perfect example of subtle sexiness for the lady who doesn’t want to bare it all in a string bikini. Also, wearing a mesh pump can be slimming by elongating the appearance of your legs. Mesh designs have always been common in athletic wear but now have a more sophisticated look and a cut-out mesh dress will make you a show-stoppper at any formal event. So, don’t be scared. Go ahead and get fresh with mesh this summer!
Ok. This is a trend I wasn’t too sure about at first, but know I’m turning the corner. I think it was the stiletto version of gladiators that threw me off. They seemed a little too brazen or even cartoonish, but the flat versions have a nice bohemian feel. Gladiator sandals are not necessarily a new trend but will definitely be revisited strongly this spring. I think that they would look absolutely adorable with a soft, flowing mini dress like I saw in a Macy’s fashion show last week. So, I was on the fence, but now I think they’re a go. What do you think? Will the inner gladiator in you rise up this spring?
