This is an outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago to meet a friend, and fellow blogger, for drinks. I had actually been looking for a crisp, white blazer for the upcoming warm season but have had difficulty finding one I really liked. Well, I was going through my closet the other day and what did I find? A crisp, white blazer!! It still had the tags on it (shame). I was delighted to find I already had what I was looking for but realized just how cluttered and disorganized my closet had become. Have you ever found yourself purchasing something you didn’t realize you already had until you got home and saw it?
This prompted me to sort through my clothes and donate items I know I won’t wear anymore. It was actually kind of fun! I found so many great pieces I had totally forgotten about. It was like shopping in my own closet!
Case in point, the scarf, blazer and pants were all items I completely forgot about and fell in love with all over again.
Have you done your spring closet cleaning? You never know what you might find
I enjoy reading your comments. I read each and every one.

The Sun Gods were shining on us this past Sunday so it was a great day for brunch and book club meeting. We read an amazing novel called “Powder Necklace” by my good college friend Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond. This is her first novel and she has already received rave reviews. It is a beautiful coming-of-age story about a London-born Ghanaian girl’s journey from England to Ghana and to the United States. Nana vividly depicts her heroine’s struggles with adolescence and trying to adapt to her ever changing environments. The book club loved the book as well and if you’re looking for a great book to read, I highly recommend it.
A blazer, jeans, and fun accessories is a uniform I turn to often. It’s a great casual chic look. The necklace I bought a couple years ago at an Atlanta boutique called Pinkheart. They have very cute and affordable jewelry and accessories. You can check it out on their site: www.shoppinkheart.com
Jacket: White House Black Market. Tank: Calson (Nordstrom). Jeans: Citizens of Humanity. Shoes: Forever 21. Handbag: Cole Haan. Necklace: Pinkheart. Earrings: Macy’s. Watch: Swiss Legend
Do you ever get fashion inspiration from food? Well, I do. It has been chilly in Atlanta recently and it made me want to cozy up with a warm drink. I gave up coffee many years ago but every once and a while I like to have a Starbucks caramel macchiato. I decided to save myself the 260 calories and use the idea for an outfit inspiration. The camel coat is a beautiful Italian wool beauty I scored years ago at SYMS when they were going out of business back in Pittsburgh. Remember that store? I’d loved it dearly and so did many others. The Pittsburgh store was due to close earlier than it did but do to a vast amount of petitions, it stayed open for almost a year later before it finally closed its doors. Well, I hope you’re finding ways to stay warm in these final few weeks of winter. Hang in there. Spring is right around the corner
