There’s nothing like celebrating New Year’s Eve than with good friends, salsa dancing, and of course….booze! My husband and I met up with three other couples at Loca Luna. It’s a quaint little salsa spot in Amsterdam Walk in Midtown. I was happy to have somewhere to wear a sparkly dress and dance all night.
A picture of us ladies all gussied up in our party dresses. I found this black dress with a gorgeous sequin Aztec-pattern down the front at Fab’rik. I love the sexy mesh cut-outs on the side (although it did give me some side boob action…lol). It was a cold night so I paired it with opaque tights and booties.
The best part about the evening was bringing in the new year with my handsome husband! Doesn’t he look so dapper?
Although the Isabel Marant x H&M collection is slated to release November 14th, the looks have already been leaked! Hallelujah! I have perused through all 114 looks and I’m predicting an epic riot to occur on the launch date. The clothes exude the designer’s signature boho-sophisticated-hippie chic that the world has grown to love. Obviously, I haven’t been able to touch the fabrics but they appear to be very well made. Some stand-out pieces are definitely the leather trousers, the tweed crop jacket, and the black, slouchy booties. Here is just a little sneak peek below:
I cannot wait to see this jacket in the store and touch the fabric. It looks so intricate and divine. It’s cool but not so trendy that you can’t wear it for years to come.
I’m also loving this menswear-inspired overcoat! Another timeless piece you can wear forever.
I really appreciate how the Isabel Marant x H&M collection includes pieces with the designer’s signature tie-dye fabrics. The graphic print on these trousers are uniquely gorgeous.
I would never think to pair these booties with this length of dress but it looks very effortless in this look. Let’s talk about these booties! Slouchy, fringe, booties with a cool wedge-shaped heel. I see myself involved in a cat fight for these booties in my near future….
These black leather trousers are everything!!! The sexy, lace-up detail on the sides are a little reminiscent of Brett Michael’s Poison days but I think they will look really hot when you put them on.

A gold party dress???? Don’t mind if I do!
Mark your calendars and use a sick day at work. You do not want to miss this one!! See ya at H&M and don’t be mad if I fight you for the black fringe booties
It’s not officially Labor Day weekend until HITP (House in the park) kicks off! Sunday was the 9th annual HITP and it was quite fitting that I wore my UNIF Hotmes t-shirt because that’s exactly what we were by the end of the day.
This was my third year attending this event and it has become increasingly popular each year. People come out with their family and friends setting up tents and grills. Everyone enjoys food and drinks while listening to some of the best house music djs from all around the country.
The day began with a scorching sun and humidity. Thankfully we had some protection from the sun with our tent but we were still sweating bullets.
Dark clouds began to roll in and replaced the sun with a cool breeze.
Enter inside the pavilion if you dare but come prepared to dance until the wheels come off! Once we got inside, the sky opened up and it began to rain. The tribal beats from the music made it feel like we were doing some sort of rain dance.
There’s nothing more cathartic to me than dancing. I just feel so free and happy!
This a ‘before’ picture because we were all looking like hot messes at the end of the day. We had such a great time. House music, food, friends, and spirits equals a fantastic way to celebrate Labor Day weekend.
How did you celebrate?
I was wearing….
T-shirt: UNIF. Bandeau bra: American Apparel. Cut-offs: H&M. Ankle boots: Old Navy. Bracelets: Tory Burch, Kla. Camo shades: Street vendor (Little five points).
Last weekend my husband and I headed to a friend’s house for a dinner party. It was a rainy and gloomy evening so I wanted to brighten the mood with a fun outfit. What could be more fun than a polka dot peplum top and red skinny jeans? I must admit that I am very self conscious about by thighs and it takes courage for me to wear anything other than dark pants. These James jeans are remarkably comfortable and somewhat slimming. A trick I use to distract from my bottom half is to really dress up my top half. The peplum top gives the elusion of a smaller waist and the statement necklace draws the eye up towards my face. My mother gave me this cute little Talbots clutch a while ago and I loved how the stripes mixed well with the polka dots. Lastly, a nice stiletto heel makes the legs appear longer and me appear taller! I hope these little tips can help you when piecing an outfit together.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a ‘look for less’ or ‘get the look’ post and some of my readers have been wanting one….so, I decided to do a post with both. I feel it’s always a savvy move for a woman to wear a nice tailored suit or a tuxedo to a formal event in lieu of a dress. Black and white are classic go to looks, but Rosie Huntington-Whiteley took it to the next level wearing a red Burberry tailored suit to the LFW ’13 Burberry Porsum show. She may have not been on the runway, but all eyes were definitely on her in her bright, fitted suit. Utilize this for your own inspiration. Instead of wearing your usual dress try a fitted suit to your next occasion. Bonus if you rock a fun color or pattern
The Auto Show was in Atlanta this past weekend so my husband and I made a date night out of it. It was held at the Georgia Convention center downtown which I knew would be a considerable amount of walking, but it didn’t stop me from wearing my pumps. I wanted to sport my turquoise Tory Burch clutch because I absolutely love this rare find but I hardly ever use it. I formed by outfit around my clutch accessorizing my outfit with turquoise accents.
Some of the luxurious car brands were missing at the show this year but there were still some fascinating new cars. Kia featured some cool super hero car designs that were pretty amazing.
I have a soft spot for Mini Cooper’s and I love this Roadster!
And of course, one of my dream cars….the Audi RS5 Cabriolet!
Sunday I attended a lovely ladies brunch for one of my girlfriend’s birthday. She requested that we wear bright, springy dresses to the brunch but unfortunately, it decided to wait until March to get cold in Atlanta. It was a windy 34 degrees, not exactly dress weather. I wanted to keep the birthday girl’s wishes so I winterized my look with opaque tights and a leather jacket.
We had brunch at this incognito spot in Midtown Atlanta. The food was great and the service was excellent. There were some fabulous women at the brunch and so much interesting conversation from a diverse bunch of ladies. There was also some great networking going on.

Me and the Birthday Girl
After the brunch, we headed to this spot called Lure for drinks.
The Blue-eyed Boy
All in all, it was a fabulous day! I look forward to meeting up with some of the ladies I met at the brunch to begin brainstorming on some new projects. Oh! Happy Birthday Michele
