A shirtdress is something I always considered to be an essential piece for a a work wardrobe. A belted shirtdress paired with pumps is a perfect work outfit because it’s conservative enough for an office setting but a bit more relaxed and comfortable than suit or blouse and skirt. What I didn’t realize is how many varieties of shirtdresses are out there which makes it a truly versatile option for many different occasions.
This crisp, white Rag & Bone dress is sweet and edgy making it a great look to take from work to happy hour.
This sophisticated lace-inset beauty by Catherine Malandrino would be perfect for a cocktail party or an evening wedding.
You can’t go wrong with a safari style dress for a perfectly chic and relaxed weekend look.
I love a dress with a masculine feel especially when paired with some uber high stilettos for an irresistibly sexy look.
I love this polo shirtdress by Tory Burch. It would look really cute with some slip-on sneakers or some Chuck Taylors.
A sleeveless dress is a great option for a summer backyard BBQ or wear it with a light military jacket to transition into fall.
This super flirty, pleated, chambray dress is perfect for a first date to draw just enough attention to your gorgeous legs.
I have not seen many maxi shirtdress options but I love this Vince one with this super sexy slit.

Last weekend was a busy, fun-filled weekend. Along with having house guests and going to a wedding, I had the great pleasure of hosting a Chloe + Isabel jewelry trunk show for two good friends. The party was held at my favorite shoe shop, Happy Feet Boutique. We had discounted pedicures and shoes as well as snacks and boozy lemonade!
I will admit that I was not aware of Chloe + Isabel until my dear friends introduced me to it and ….I love it! What I feel that makes this jewelry line stand out from its competitors are the attention to detail, like their logo on the earring backings. It also features a wide variety styles that can appeal to any taste.
Here’s a little sneak peek at some of the gorgeous items.

I just love this bright, floral statement necklace. Perfect for summer!
I love the vintage feel of this necklace. They also have an entire art deco line with some really beautifully unique pieces.
This necklace is on my personal must-have list.

New Year’s Eve is just a week away. Are you party ready? If not, don’t freak out. I’ve got two great outfit ideas for you. This is the biggest party of the year so go out with a bang and wear something extravagant. Go for the gold in a sexy, strapless, gold dress and make it even more luxe with a fur bolero. If your not the flashy type, try a sophisticated jumpsuit with large, sparkly earrings. Either look will help you bring in the new year in style. So, head on out to the stores and take advantage of all the after Christmas sales and find yourself a fabulous ensemble. Feel free to share your looks!

Whatever you decide to do this New Year’s Eve, do it fabulously. Many blessings to you and yours in the upcoming year!
Houndstooth is one of those classic prints that never goes out of style. Once worn by aristocrats meandering the lush greenery of the U.K. duck hunting for sport is now worn by all. I used to not be a huge fan of this pattern because it seemed a little granny to me, but recently I have revisited this classic and I view it in a whole new light. It helps that designer have branched out from just coats and capes to flirty shorts and body con dresses giving this traditional look new life. I’m also loving the use of bright colors in leiu of the traditional black and white. Have you embraced this classic pattern with any key pieces in your wardrobe? Please feel free to share your favorite houndstooth looks.
This past Saturday I enjoyed another fun ladies’ night out. I wanted to be casual for drinks and a movie but still fun and vibrant. I pulled out this traditional Chinese silk shirt I purchased on my honeymoon in Singapore. We were winding through the maze of shops in Chinatown when I spotted these beautiful, silk shirts. It was a perfect souvenir which is why I’m a little surprised this is my first time wearing it since I bought it over a year ago.
I love how the cut of this shirt hugs the natural curves a woman. I felt instantly regal and feminine in my blouse.
I paired this outfit with some 23K gold earrings and bangle I purchased in Dubai (where we got engaged). More souvenirs I reserve for special occasions.
These Joe’s jeans are so comfortable and the very slight bootcut style is a very flattering shape. A dark wash is also my favorite because it’s also very slimming. I really wanted to wear a pair of gold heels, but I didn’t have any other than sandals. Fall has finally arrived in Atlanta and I didn’t want to have cold toes during the movie. I opted for these Guess leopard print heels I got years ago. I don’t know if anyone else does this, but I tend to use leopard print as a neutral. I think it works ok. What do you think?
Sometimes a girl just gets lucky! I stumbled upon these Michael Kors booties a couple years ago at Belk on sale! They have been a staple in my closet ever since. The simplicity of a black bootie enables me to rock them with everything and the zipper and stud detail makes it stand apart from every other basic black heel. I will admit, when I first tried these on they were a little snug. I walked around the shoe department for a while trying to make them comfortable then finally decided to ask the salesman if he could stretch them for me. He pleasantly obliged and in an hour, they felt like an entirely different shoe. So, the tip for today is make sure you spend an ample amount of time in a shoe to determine how comfortable they will be when you wear them out. Don’t be afraid to ask for any augmentations such as heel pads, ball-of-the-foot pads, or stretching. Any shoe department worth their salt should be ready and willing to accommodate you.
I have yellow fever!!!! NOT! But I have been craving a gorgeous canary yellow handbag as a latest addition to my collection for the upcoming summer months. There’s no better way to add some spice to a summer wardrobe than beautiful bold accessories. It’s a nice trick to give last year’s wardrobe a makeover without spending a lot of money. Here are a few of the beauties I’m drooling over. Which one do you like?
