I’m thrilled to share with you this amazing new designer I stumbled upon a little while ago. The designer, Sheena Sood, has studied design at Brown University, Central Saint Martins College of London, and RISD. She has also worked for two of my favorite designers Tracy Reese and Zac Posen. Sheena launched her line in 2013 which is influenced by the bold colors of Brazil and the textiles of India to create this amazing funky, urban line.

I’m so in love with all of these looks! I definitely want to make one of those multi-wear dresses mine. Be sure to check out the rest of her looks at abacaxi-nyc.com.
Save the best for last. That’s how I felt about our last day in NYC….
Posing in Times Square on our way to brunch.
Mother and I enjoying a delicious brunch at the Blue Fin inside the W Hotel Times Square. Doesn’t she look adorable in her pink suit!
Always the most interesting characters in Times Square.
Getting ready for the show!
The show was absolutely amazing! It was almost more like a concert with everyone singing along to all of Motown’s greatest hits. Oh! The boy who played the young Michael Jackson of the Jackson 5 blew everyone away! He sounded just as good, if not better, than M.J.! Please check out this show if you have the opportunity!
Goodbye NYC! At least until our next adventure

Welcome to my second installment of NYC Mother’s Day weekend! Our morning started off in Tribeca where we had a scrumptious breakfast.
We enjoyed our breakfast at this quaint little restaurant called Kitchenette. It was so warm and homey giving you the feeling of stepping into your grandmother’s kitchen with sweet smells swirling in the air!
Cookies and cakes galore!
Red velevet pancakes! Eat your heart out!
My girl Michele dropped by to join us for breakfast
After our meal, Mom went to a salon next door for a manicure and I took the opportunity to burn some calories and explore Tribeca.
I came across an adorable farmers market with all sorts of goodies.
We left Tribeca and headed to the Soho area for some vintage shopping. I was so excited to visit one of Rachel Zoe’s favorite shops Resurrection! It was filled with one of a kind vintage pieces from Missoni, Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, McQueen and more. Unfortunately, I don’t have Rachel Zoe’s budget so none of these beauties came home with me. Next time
A little pit stop through Times Square on our way back to the hotel.
We ended our night at a restaurant of famed chef, Marcus Samuelsson, called the Red Rooster. It is located right in the heart of Harlem so I wanted to go ultra vintage glam with a beaded headpiece and red lips.
That’s me impatiently awaiting my drink.
And there it is…….
Thanks for reading. Look out for my third and final post of NYC coming soon!

A month ago, I was about to buy my ticket to Pittsburgh to surprise my mom for Mother’s Day weekend and my mother called and said she saw the cast of Motown the Musical on GMA and wanted to go to NYC to see the show on Mother’s Day. I’m so glad she came up with the idea because I had the most amazing weekend with my mother in NYC! We were two birds of feather flocking around the city. We arrived Friday afternoon and settled in at the Sofitel Hotel in Times Square.
Me & Mom
We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at The Shop restaurant inside the Andaza Hotel. We both had the red snapper and cleaned our plates. We also had dessert! A wonderful, warm apple and cranberry crumbly goodness that was just absolutely sinful!
