I finally found the perfect pair of black over-the-knee boots! Now I’m considering all the different ways to style them. My go to has been to wear them over skinny jeans with a blazer but I’ve been searching for some more ideas. Insert…Olivia Palermo. This style icon’s covetable fashion sense is emulated by fashionistas all over the world. I saw this simple look in Instyle magazine and thought it was a great look to share. What I love most about the look is its simplicity. Olivia tends to dress very understated. She has the distinct talent of wearing trends without looking trendy. Her two statement pieces, the jacket and the boots, are offset with simple leggings and cardigan. The addition of the feminine blouse and belt balance the ruggedness of the jacket forming a beautifully balanced and chic look.
I have been searching high and low for the perfect black, low-heel, over-the-knee boot. I really wanted the highly coveted Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots but $595 was not in the budget. So, I was hunting for a cheaper knock-off and found the Corso Como over-the-knee boot on Piperlime. Of course, I waited until after Christmas for them to go on sale and alas, they were sold out!!! Back on the hunt, I scoured the web and found them! Nordstrom to the rescue, again! Not only were they in my size and on sale, my husband gave me a gift card for Christmas. When I received them in the mail, I was not disappointed. I loved the glossy leather finish and the elastic back provides a nice snug fit on the leg. I couldn’t wait to wear them and paired them with some skinny jeans and an oversized sweater. I will admit that the toe box is not very deep and I did began to feel it on the top of my foot. I think if I change my socks, this will remedy the problem. I still absolutely love these boots!

I believe I mentioned in a previous post that I find over-the-knee boots to be a little intimidating. First, I am petite and I fear wearing a boot that comes to my thigh might take up the entire length of my thighs and make me look shorter. Secondly, some boots are a little reminiscent of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. After being out and and about and seeing over-the-knee boots on a variety of women, I’m starting to warm up to the idea. I actually have a pair of grey ones I bought a few years ago but I rarely wear them. I’ve been drawn to the basic black, low heel boots. These would be a great fall staple because they are a little more subtle and versatile. I can see pairing these with a flowy mini dress and moto jacket or leggings and a cozy knit sweater. Piperlime has some good options and I’ve selected my favorites to share with you.
