It’s almost time to pop some bottles and bring in the new year! Do you have your New Year’s party style together yet? I actually have a couple of outfit ideas but no definitive plans yet, but I’ll share my ideas with you. The first look is a play on a feminine tuxedo vibe. Substitute black pants for sequin leggings for some extra sparkle and keep the top subtle with a simple, white halter top. I know shiny leggings can be a hard look to pull off but adding some sky high booties will elongate your legs. If you’re still not comfortable with leggings, you can swap them out for a sequin skirt. I built the second look around these killer Sam Edelman Kayla boots. I actually have these and I’m dying to pair them with a sexy dress for New Year’s. My outfit will probably look a lot like this one. Add some fur for a little luxe (and warmth) and party the night away. Which look is your favorite?
If there’s one ‘it’ bag you need for this fall season, it’s a crocodile handbag. I know it can set a fashionista back several thousand dollars but there are many faux croc options available that are just as beautiful. When I think of a crocodile handbag, it instantly brings thoughts of luxury and sophistication like the iconic Hermes Birkin bag. I personally love a classsic top handle satchel bag, but designers have created some amazing crocodile handbags in all kinds of styles. You will no longer be limited to brown and black with this closet staple. Tory Burch has a beautiful cobalt blue tote as well as a juicy red choice by YSL. If you really want to be funky, try a two-tone bag like the Dolce Gabbana pictured below. Either way, you can’t go wrong with purchasing this timeless classic which will continue to be relevant for many seasons to come.
Mesh?!?! This material immediately gives me flashbacks of the 80’s when I was trying to emulate my role model, Madonna. It can be a scary thing to wear. If done wrong, you can look like you belong on the Fashion Police segment Starlet or Streetwalker. However, when it’s done right, it can be demure and very chic. It’s a great way to show just enough skin to draw interest but keep them guessing about what’s underneath. I’m loving the way designers are taking mesh to the next level. A one-piece swimsuit with mesh paneling is the perfect example of subtle sexiness for the lady who doesn’t want to bare it all in a string bikini. Also, wearing a mesh pump can be slimming by elongating the appearance of your legs. Mesh designs have always been common in athletic wear but now have a more sophisticated look and a cut-out mesh dress will make you a show-stoppper at any formal event. So, don’t be scared. Go ahead and get fresh with mesh this summer!
Every fit chick knows that yoga leggings are truly essential since you practically live in them. Whether you’re a yogi, a Pilates girl, a runner, or a barre babe you probably wear leggings on a daily basis. I probably have six pairs of black ones and black everyday gets pretty monotonous so I like to spice it up with some hot pants. Several brands are embracing more bright colors and fun prints to liven up their collections which brings even more fun and whimsy to your workout. Of course, some luxury leggings can run as high as $200 but I found these cute pair by Onzie for $44. Do you wear hot pants for your workout?
Awwww……yeah! It’s time to celebrate the birthday of the U.S.A. and what better way to say “I America” than sporting a quintessential All-American girl look? Comfort is a must since you’ll probably be at a BBQ or the beach before heading out to the fireworks show. There’s nothing more classic than cut-offs and Chuck Taylors. Add a patriotic T-shirt or tank and throw on a cute kimono for extra style points and you’re good to go!
What will be your look for the fourth of July? Feel free to share.
For whatever reason I have really been loving all things boho chic this summer. I’ve been wearing cut-off shorts with ankle boots, kimonos, and of course, a fringe bag. Nothing epitomizes bohemian more than a cool fringe bag but some of them can be quite expensive which is not so bohemian. The brand jj winters has created some of the most desirable fringe handbags made popular by celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens. They are around $400 which is not outrageous but I found this adorable bag by Steve Madden for only $68!! That’s a great price for a bag you may not utilize all year long but still be the perfect complement to your boho look.
It’s always nice when a popular trend sticks around long enough to become more readily accessible and affordable to the masses. I remember when statement necklaces became increasingly fashionable a few years ago and they were pretty pricey. Designs were dominated by high-end brands like Dannijo, Ben Amun, and Tim Binns but now the highly covetable closet staple can be found everywhere from Barney’s to Target. I have compiled a few of my favorite styles all for less than $100. Now you can truly start your summer off with a statement!
It’s a bittersweet feeling when I come across yet another luxury designer to covet. I’m always excited to discover something new and beautiful but the price tag is usually a downer. Case in point, the gorgeous handbags by M2Malletier. This Barcelona-based brand is known for its minimalistic designs and infamous needle-like handle. The architectural designs paired with a superb quality of leather creates a winning combo of alluring handbags.
I love the subtle mint color of this bag. Absolutely perfect for spring!
This has a roomier square shape and the creamy tan color makes this a timeless classic you can carry for years.
Get a little feisty with this funkadelic hologram look. I also love the octagonal shape of this purse for an even edgier look.
I love this juicy purple color and the elongated shape is a sleek choice for an evening event.
If your feeling caliente, this coral is a great option for a fun vacay!

I know. I know. You are probably so tired of hearing about Kim Kardashian and Kimye. You can’t turn on the the t.v. or radio without hearing about their upcoming nuptials in Paris, but you have to admit that they have been looking really good lately. The paps can’t get enough of this dazzling couple. I have really never been a huge fan of Kim K’s style but I do think Kanye has had somewhat of a good influence on her by toning her down a little. Whether it’s Kanye or becoming a new mom, her style is definitely evolving for the better. Here she is stepping out in Paris for ice cream with the fam while getting ready for her big day. I love this military style bandeau dress by Givenchy and Guiseppe Zanotti booties. Her slicked back hairstyle really polishes off the look. We can’t all afford $2million wedding gowns so I have offered a more affordable option to get the look.
How do you feel about Kim K’s new style? Would you rock this look?
White handbags are a definite must-have for the summer. The satchel bag is a great versatile style you can use on a daily basis. The Givenchy bag on the left is gorgeous but is priced well over $1000. That’s a lot of dough to spend on an item you will use for only a few months out of the year. Not to mention it is a pain to keep clean. The Charles & Keith purse on the right is under $100 and is just as cute. Will you splurge on this summer trend or save your $$$ for the steal?
