The arrival of a new season means new trends and one of the hottest trends this spring are crop tops. Most crop tops have a boxy silhouette which isn’t always flattering which is why I love the bustier crop top. It’s sexy and feminine but can be intimidating for many women to wear. If styled the wrong way, one could be confused for a streetwalker so here is some advice on how to style this trend. I chose this black and white lace bustier crop top by Topshop. The color was easy to style and the lace made it a little more interesting. Sporty chic is going to be big this spring as well and adding a ladylike touch to a men’s fashion inspired look is always cool. A silky bomber jacket, leather jogger pants, and wedge sneakers will help create a feminine yet sporty feel. You can add this bustier underneath a sophisticated white suit to add a little sexy for a nice dinner date. Lastly, you can take your crop top to all the many festivals that come with warm weather. Just add some high-waisted shorts, booties, and a moto jacket and you’re good to go!
Like most people around the country, I headed to a Super Bowl party yesterday. I was completely apathetic about both teams and it’s purely chance that my Super Bowl outfit had the colors of the winning Seattle Seahawks. If the Steelers aren’t in the Super Bowl, I will typically just pull for the team with the least amount of rings so no one challenges the Steelers 6 championship rings record. I initially was going to wear black, coated skinny jeans with a blouse and statement necklace, but it felt a little too dressy for the occasion. So, I opted for a simple plaid shirt I found at Target and a pair of skinny jeans I haven’t been able to fit into for over a year! Thanks to the master cleanse and Dietbet, I’m back in my Tory Burch zipper jeans!
It was a surprisingly balmy day of temps close to 70 degrees. It was hard to believe Snowmegeddon of Atlanta was just five days prior.
It is still hard for me to wear flats with skinny jeans. Being a petite and curvy girl, I always feel the need to wear high heels to elongate my silhouette. These nude color (nude for my complexion) pumps from Aldo are pretty comfortable.
Of course, I still had to glam up the outfit with a chunky necklace and some fun bracelets. What did you wear for your Super Bowl party?
I was wearing…
Top: Target. Jeans: Tory Burch. Pumps: Aldo. Belt: Tory Burch. Necklace: Vince Camuto. Earrings: Tory Burch. Watch: Michele. Bracelets: Topshop & Fab’rik.
Baby! It’s cold! That’s probably the understatement of the year. In light of the polar vortex we are experiencing down here in the south, I was inspired to feature an appropriate cold weather look. Just because it feels like Antarctica outside doesn’t mean you have to look frumpy while battling the elements. A classic fair isle sweater is a great festive winter staple. The variety of colors that are available in the pattern make pairing this sweater simple and fun. Of course, no cold weather look would be complete without a warm, down, puffer coat. A belted style coat provides an otherwise bulky silhouette a feminine shape, and is so chic. I love fur accents on anything to add a little luxe. I have been coveting a pair of Sorel boots for a while but have not pulled the trigger. This winter blast may just give me that nudge I need to cop a pair. Lastly, top off the look with winter hat with ear flaps to keep you warm.
I finally found the perfect pair of black over-the-knee boots! Now I’m considering all the different ways to style them. My go to has been to wear them over skinny jeans with a blazer but I’ve been searching for some more ideas. Insert…Olivia Palermo. This style icon’s covetable fashion sense is emulated by fashionistas all over the world. I saw this simple look in Instyle magazine and thought it was a great look to share. What I love most about the look is its simplicity. Olivia tends to dress very understated. She has the distinct talent of wearing trends without looking trendy. Her two statement pieces, the jacket and the boots, are offset with simple leggings and cardigan. The addition of the feminine blouse and belt balance the ruggedness of the jacket forming a beautifully balanced and chic look.
Now that the hectic holidays are over, it’s time to relax and cuddle up on the sofa and enjoy your post-Christmas food coma. Besides a fuzzy robe (which you should NEVER wear in public), there’s nothing like warming up in cozy cardigans. These are definitely one of my favorite wardrobe staples. You can wear a lightweight one in the summer or a heavier knit variety for autumn and winter. I tend to have a few plain ones to dress up or down with jeans or over a dress. I love a long cardigan as well, especially belted or with a hood to wear in lieu of a jacket during the cooler months. A soft cardigan is also great for travel paired with patterned leggings for a fun look. There are so many different styles to satisfy any taste whether you prefer a classic preppy look or a relaxed bohemian style. No matter what style you choose a quality cardigan sweater is a nice asset to any closet.
It looks like tartan is here to stay. The safe way to incorporate this look into your wardrobe would be to add a tartan blazer or shirt but why not be a little daring and try some plaid pants? I stumbled upon these adorable pair from Mango and was inspired to pair some looks with them. I will admit that wearing plaid pants can be a little tricky so I have created three different ways to rock this look. The first look is for someone with a more edgy personality. The addition of a cool leather moto jacket and Jeffrey Campbell booties to an otherwise preppy look gives it a London rocker, school-girl look. If your looking for a more work appropriate look try pairing the pants with a feminine silk blouse, a structured blazer, and pearls. If you’re a little self-concious about your rear, you can wear a long cardigan with a scarf and tall boots to provide a cozy and casual look.
If you read my previous post on black over-the-knee boots, you know I’m impatiently awaiting boot season to rock a pair. I’ll have to wait a little longer here in Atlanta but I’m already preparing ways to style my boots. That’s when I came across this look by Jessica Biel and was inspired. We are accustomed to seeing Jessica in body-hugging outfits showing off her rock- solid figure, but this chic yet relaxed look is very cool. Her grey coat is beautiful but I actually really like this mixed media one from Tinley Road. The vegan leather sleeves and asymmetric zipper gives it a little more interest and pairs well with the black boots. The Report boots I have featured have a gorgeous shiny leather finish and similar asymmetric zipper across the back. The small block heel is perfect because it still provides a little height but comfortable enough to stomp around the city all day long. Finish the look off with some comfortable jeans and a pair of sophisticated shades and you’ve got your fall uniform.

Are you ready for some football?!?! I know I am. As a die-hard Steeler fan, I can’t wait for the upcoming NFL season. I’ve been going to football games since I was a little girl. I remember swimming in my Dad’s jersey because they did not make a lot of fan gear for children at the time nor ladies for that matter. But, oh, how times have changed. NFL apparel companies have caught on how many female fans are out there and have begun to capitalize on it by designing fashionable ladies NFL apparel! Companies like Junkfood clothing and Touch by Alyssa Milano have some really cute options available. Instead of a sloppy jersey, you can choose a soft, vintage t-shirt, bedazzaled tank tops, and even wedge sneakers! Now us ladies can still look stylish while cheering on our team. I know I’m biased with my sample outfits below but you can apply it to your team
A few weekends ago I hosted another one of my Rodan & Fields skincare parties at the new Sugarcoat nail salon in the Vinings. These events are so much fun for me because I get to socialize with friends and make amazing new acquaintances all while sipping some vino. The fact that I make money from it is simply a bonus. It was a beautiful, balmy afternoon so I opted for a more tropical look from no other than my favorite store, Zara.
The new salon space is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend paying a visit if you’re ever in the area.
I love this nail polish rainbow.
I just adore this Zara skort! It’s so cute and comfy.
Thanks for the great pics Joi!

I had been looking forward to the Peachtree Hills Wine & Arts festival because the weather for the past few weeks had been pretty picturesque, but humidity decided to rear it’s ugly head this weekend. As most of you know, humidity equals frizzy hair. Even my keratin treatment is no match for the Georgia heat and humidity so, I decided to let my hair do what it wants to do naturally. I went to Target and purchased some inexpensive curl hair products and let them work their magic.
I figured since I didn’t have to worry about my hair, I didn’t want to worry about my face either so I went out sans makeup.
I opted for a crop top and cutoff shorts for an easy, breezy look.
We had so much fun (despite the heat). The volunteers were pretty heavy-handed so it was more like a wine drinking rather than a tasting
